Mornings get busier, afternoons feel longer, and you want them to have a safe, engaging place where they’re known and cared for, not just somewhere they’re watched. At Hamilton Heights, our School-Age Program in Omaha, Papillion, or Lincoln is designed to feel like an extension of a caring home while giving kids the structure, fun, and freedom they need after a full day of school.
Our Approach: The Creative Curriculum®
We still use The Creative Curriculum® as our planning framework, but we adapt it to fit the interests and energy of elementary-aged children. It stays play-based and child-centered, focusing on the whole child, which means their social-emotional growth, creativity, and continued learning.
Instead of worksheets or heavy academics, we emphasize hands-on experiences, projects, and real-life skills. Our teachers observe the children, listen to their ideas, and create activities around what they’re excited about. Whether it’s building something complex in the makerspace, working on a group project, or diving into a favorite topic, the goal is to keep that love of learning alive while helping them develop confidence, responsibility, and strong relationships.
A Safe and Inviting Environment
Our classrooms are bright and thoughtfully set up with soft areas to rest, cozy nooks to read, and plenty of space to move and play. Everything is age-appropriate and meets the highest safety standards, both inside and on our secure playgrounds.
Before and After School Care
We offer reliable before-school and after-school care with van transportation to and from designated elementary schools in the area (just ask us if we serve your school). Children arrive to a warm welcome, enjoy a healthy breakfast or snack, and have time to ease into or unwind from their school day. The afternoon schedule includes:
- Time to relax and connect with friends
- Homework help when needed
- Plenty of outdoor play and active games
- Choice activities and clubs based on the kids’ interests
We keep the routines consistent so kids know what to expect, but we also build in flexibility so they can have a voice in how they spend their time. We also offer full-day care during certain school closings so you’re covered when school is out unexpectedly.
Our Summer Program – The Highlight of the Year
Summer is when our School-Age Program really shines. Instead of long, boring days, kids get a mix of structure and adventure:
- Interest-based clubs that the children actually help choose. Past favorites have included Sports Club, Fort Building, Science Club, Jewelry Making, Woodworking, Dance, Geocaching, and even Bug Collecting.
- Weekly field trips to different zoos, museums, inflatable parks, miniature golf, fishing trips, nature walks, and more.
- Community service projects where kids make a real difference by collecting food for local pantries, making blankets for shelters, or organizing back-to-school supply drives.
- Long-term projects and plenty of time for free play and creativity.
Staying Connected
We use our parent communication app to send photos, updates, and highlights from your child’s day. You’ll know when they had a great time on a field trip, tried something new in club, or just had a fun moment with friends. We also share regular progress notes and are always happy to sit down and talk.

I've taken my two children there for their entire lives and have had nothing but great experiences. My oldest is thriving in elementary school thanks to her foundation for learning at Hamilton Heights, while my youngest is there and loved on every day. The experienced and passionate staff make the difference over other child care centers in the area. I'd give 500 stars if I could.

We love the teachers and community at Hamilton Heights. My children have benefited from not only their classroom friends and teachers, but by being exposed to all kids of all ages. The hours are extremely convenient for working parents and the curriculum also came highly recommended by experienced early childhood educators as well.

Hamilton Heights has been our daycare family for 8 years- the staff is truly amazing in how they get to know your family so well. They are so caring and flexible! They have a dedication that is unmatched! My kids have been very well prepared for kindergarten which sets up a long, positive experience for school! I would recommend Hamilton Heights over and over!

My two children started at Hamilton Heights in August and we absolutely love it! The entire staff is warm and welcoming and I know my children are in great hands and learning while I am at work. I love getting updates on Procare throughout the day and checking in on the web cams so I can see my children playing.

We have loved Hamilton Heights. My two kids started when they were 1 and 3 years old and everyone has been so friendly. It is easy to communicate with teachers and directors every day. My kids continue to love going to their school and they are 2 and 4 years old. Both of them always run to their teachers and have no problems saying buy to mom or dad!

The teachers they can retain are so good with the kids. I hope they do what it takes to keep the current talent they have. I regularly buy my son’s teachers gifts and little things to show my appreciation. They don’t get paid enough. The director, Brandy is also really sweet.

You know you've selected the best daycare when your child asks to return to school during pick-up. We love the teachers and staff at this center. Incredibly friendly and caring! Everyone seems to know the children's name and seems to genuinely love being there. Cannot express how much our family adore all the teachers at this center. Thank you!

I wish I could give them a million stars. Not only do they have cameras, but everyone is so friendly and keeps us informed. Somehow they've managed to get my kiddo to nap. He hasn't napped in at least a year and a half. He's so happy when he comes home and so excited to go to daycare every day. I'm so grateful that we were able to get a spot.

We love this daycare! The directors and staff are so friendly and have great communication. My child is learning so much here and it feels great knowing my child is at a place they enjoy being. Hamilton Heights is a wonderful place - our son loved the teachers and the indoor/outdoor activities offered. Hamilton Heights is great about giving you daily feedback on how your child is doing, so as a parent you feel very connected to your child even though they're away during the day. Highly recommend to others! Great value

Both of my school age sons attend Hamilton Heights on non-school days and during the summer. I couldn't ask for better teachers and staff to be working with my children! The staff is so kind and understanding to the needs of my daughter. Even when my daughter has had a challenging day they still have something positive to say and always make us feel welcome. I really love that they have cameras in the rooms that you can log on to and watch your child from your phone to see how their day is going. The teachers are engaging and I feel like the directors genuinely care about the families.

Our son has attended Hamiltons Preschool and Pre K programs and I couldn’t recommend a better child center. We have crossed many milestones during our time with the company and they have been so wonderful to work with.
